If it does not have a mint mark it was made at the Philadelphia Mint. The value depends on the condition of the coin. In average circulated condition it would retail around .00 which is just over melt value. A dealer would probably only give you .50 or .00 for it. Again it all depends on the condition of the coin.

The 1956 quarter is not a scarce coin it had a mintage of 44,144,000. It is worth 7 to 8 times face value for it’s silver if in circulated grades. That is about what a dealer will pay. Remember in 1956 the mint mark if any, is on the eagle side below the wreath near the bottom on the coin. No mint mark is Philadelphia mint. If the coin is in mint state it is worth more, depending on what mint state grade it is.
Unless it is in excellent condition, near melt value for the silver.
Based on today’s spot price, the value would be $3.23
