nope not rare at all.
I’d say around 1-3 dollars
An original 1943 steel penny is not considered a rare U.S. coin. The value of the coin ranges from 10 cents for circulated condition up to $70 for near-perfect, un circulated condition.
The value of the 1943 steel penny is about 10 to 25 cents a piece. The coin itself is common to find at a coin shop but is uncommon to find in change. Definitely hold on to the coin, its a collector’s item.
It’s worth about 5 cents. A 1943 copper penny, however, is worth about $80,000.
